Simple Steps to Reaching Your Goals

After you have visualized what "healthy living" will look like to you, the next thing is to get started! Isn't that always the hardest part? Here are some simple steps to get started. It always amazes me how much easier anything is once I get it on paper...I'm a list maker and love to check off things I've accomplished!

Step 1 Set your goals
Steps 2 Write them down (you must look at the goal at least once per day! bathroom mirror is a good place)
Step 3 Write out a plan
Step 4 Take action steps
Step 5 Evaluate your success...do this once per week. What did you do well? What can you improve upon?
Step 6 Re-set your goals....this is very important! continue to follow these steps until your original goal is met.

See it in your mind's eye first!

Hi and Welcome Back!!!

Today, I'm starting with a question for you....What is your vision of healthy living? Think about yourself first. Take just a minute and close your eyes....what do you see? My vision of healthy living may be different from yours', but that's okay. It's your own vision that will excite you and help you to believe that you can make a transformation in your life. This is what will make it work for you! Make sure you do your vision work before you read on. It's very important that you have your own "mental picture!"

It was about ten years ago that I first saw with my mind's eye a vision of me in the future. I didn't really see a body, but what I would "feel" like. I pictured myself carrying our grandbabies and being a "cool" grandma! (Of course, our children were only in middle school, so there weren't any grandbabies on the scene and still aren't -yet!) At that time, I was beginning to have trouble getting out of bed in the morning...lower back ache, some joint stiffness, minor aches and pains. Enough to get my attention! And, enough to make me think about what shape I might be in within the next 10-15 years. I knew if I didn't pay attention to my body,  those years would creep up on me faster than I could "shake a stick at." Thus, my health journey began.

Spend some more time developing your vision of how you desire to look and feel in the future.

Ask yourself, what will be the cost if you chose to do nothing?

And, how will it make you feel when you do get there?!! This is where the excitement begins!

"Where there is no vision, the people perish..." Proverbs 29:18

"What you think about, you bring about!"

Welcome to my blog!

Hi there and welcome to my very first blog!!! I can't believe I'm doing this...first facebook and now blogging, but I'm very excited! Today, I want to share a little bit about my goal and vision for this blog and tell you about myself.
I felt led to begin this blog because it's a new year and a time for new beginnings.  (I know that's cliche, but...) Suddenly I've been surrounded by talk of healthy living. Just about every single person I've come in contact with has been talking about something they are starting or planning to start to try to improve their health. One of my spiritual gifts is encouragement therefore I desire to help motivate and encourage others on their journey to better health. I plan to write about healthy choices in many areas and include scripture or appropriate inspiration from others. Hopefully, you'll feel like I have valuable info. to share - if not, thanks for checking it out!
A little bit about me...I'm very blessed to be married to my best friend and lover for over 28 years. We have two, fantastic adult children (that feels weird!) one is married (so technically we have three children), the other is engaged. Our children have always entertained us and we're a close-knit family. I'm actually one of nine. Number Eight...my lucky number! I love all my siblings and their families and am close with them. With all those siblings we have a HUGE family....it's the best! Including my husband's family, our kids grew up with tons of aunts, uncles and cousins. Such blessings!
I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He became my Lord and Savior when I was only ten years old but it wasn't until I began studying the Word through "Precepts" with Kay Arthur that I actually got to know Him! I'm on an incredible journey to Eternity. I certainly invite you on that journey, too! I love my family in Christ, too! One of my passions is ministry to women; I'm currently co-leading our study at church on the book, Lies Women Believe. It's life-changing!
I have my own business...which I LOVE! I am a Health and Wellness consultant for a global company. I've used the products for over 7 years, my family uses the products...I'm a product of the product! (I love cliches...ha!) Most of my blogs will be inspired by my faith and by my business. Actually, it dovetails very sweetly!
Oh yes, I'm also big into personal development...I read all the time. I'm careful about "filtering" what I read and lining it up against God's word.
As I'm contemplating what my first official blog will be about, I'll leave you with a quote from my dad, who had an 8th grade education but, was a very wise man. "You only have one body, you need to take care of it!" Thanks Dad for your wisdom...it has inspired me many times!
Be blessed and I hope you'll enjoy my future blogs! They will most likely be much shorter!!!
